Edited by: Free 2 on 19/12/2006 09:48:41 all has to do with jumping to other sections/regions.
If you stay put it's all fine, as soon as you start warping around it gets a fps hit every time. Seems like eve isn't clearing the info of the regions you've been in and keeps feeding your cpu with all regions.
btw, there are allready about 5 threads since last night all regarding same problem. Perhaps a mod can combine them all, this is hard to follow !

doubt its a real mem problem because it stays at 300mb for eve for me out of the 2gb i have. I have 1gb left for sure (as all progs say) so plenty of room for more mem for eve. However the cpu seems to be the bottleneck as it starts stressing which ofc also effects windows itself. The fact i have duo core saves my windows in my case but with a single core i bet windows won't run very well anymore.

Edited by: Free 2 on 19/12/2006 13:10:51 Someone suggest somewhere (can't find it back) it might have to do with anchored structures like gates, stations etc. This would make sense as astroids and moons don't seem to cause any problems but once you warp to a gate or station multiple times fps drops dramatically. Some say you will have to go through a gate to get fps drop but in fact warping back and forth between gates in same system causes frames to drop each time. Granted, if you go through a gate it hits harder but it's not the sole thing.
perhaps someone can try warping between stations, gates and or achored cans in belts to check it out?! I'm @ work else i'd try it.

i think you're right and has been "sortoff" mentioned as reason in other threads also. Problem now is sorting out WHY as it happened all of a sudden and not after a patch or even dt.

Originally by: Cinnamon Red Just to add my bit here too... Today's patch seems to have made matters much worse for me, not better. I experienced very little lag yesterday, even in quite busy systems (100+ in local) but after today's patch I'm down to around 5 fps even in deserted systems.
nothing to do with the patch, the fps degrade was yesterday also around but some got lucky and it didn't affect them at that point. The extended dt was never ment for this to be fixed as they were not aware of this thing when the dt was announced. It all started around 18gmt for me last night and everybody who says they have it since last dt prolly haven't been online last night after 18gmt.
